The Lion Foundation National Secondary School Songwriting Competition is the flagship programme of the Play It Strange Trust. The competition is open to every NZ secondary school student (including home-schooled), Years 9 to 13. This competition celebrates and embraces the voice of our youth through song

All other 49 finalists received a $50 Rockshop voucher along with a signed certificate for each songwriter and a professional recording studio session to the value of $750 (plus GST).

All songs were be mastered for the annual Play It Strange album, available for free downloading and/or streaming.
